Rainbow Six Siege’s The Esports Club League just concluded its third playday for division one matches. The tournament has a prize pool of $1,800, which is very high for the South Asia competitive scene. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all the matches will be held online instead of the more traditional LAN environment. The prize pool of the tournament will be split and awarded to the top five teams in every division. You can find the prize pool split here.
The ongoing The Esports Club League is a league-based competition, where every team has to face all their opponents from the same division. After all the matches are played out, every team will have earned points that are determined by the team's wins. The bottom three teams of every division then get demoted to the lower division, or even relegated if you are in division three, which is the lowest division in this league. You can watch live streams of every game on the TEC YouTube page.
The most exciting matchup for the third playday was between Union Gaming and MrcZ. The match was played on Clubhouse, which is a very strategy-heavy map. The match was super exciting to watch, as both teams recently played each other in the APAC North Major. The only difference this time is that MrcZ was able to win the map with a 7-4 scoreline.
Another exciting match to watch was between TRN8 and LevelZero Esports. The match was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky, which is a strategy-heavy map. It wasn’t really surprising to see TRN8 win the match, as LvZ is known to be more of a frag-heavy team rather than one that focuses on strategy. The match went 7-4 in the favor of TRN8, with TRN8 being able to counter their opponent's strategies with every step they took.
