Resident Evil Village was a big hit for Capcom, both financially and critically. Fans started asking for more content and their wish came true. Capcom announced last year that they are developing DLCs for the game, and yesterday, the Japanese company finally revealed the upcoming content.
Capcom Showcase revealed Winters' Expansion along with its release date, October 28 on all platforms. It will feature new content, including a story DLC, Mercenaries Additional Offers, and a new way to play the game.
Shadows of Rose Story Expansion
The story expansion, Shadows of Rose, is set 16 years after the base game. Players will control Rose, the baby from the main campaign, who is now a grown-up. She is having problems with her powers and is trying to get rid of them. I guess we will know more when we finish the DLC. The entire DLC will only be playable in third-person mode.
Third-Person Mode
Capcom is adding a highly demanded feature. You will soon be able to play the entire campaign of Resident Evil Village in Third-Person Mode, one more reason to play the game.
The Mercenaries Additional Orders
The Mercenaries mode is going to get something fresh soon. Fans will play on additional stages with even more characters from the base game including Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg, and fan-favorite Alcina Dimitrescu.
Gold Edition
Capcom announced another edition of the game as well. Resident Evil Village Gold Edition will include the base game and Winters' Expansion, to be released on the same day as the said expansion. If you already own the base game, you can just purchase the expansion to get the new content without purchasing Gold Edition.
Resident Evil Village was released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in May 2021. You can purchase the game right now on Steam for $59.99.
