Saying that Hideo Kojima is a great video game designer often feels like an understatement. The entire gaming community knows how passionate this man is, and his games do really project quality. So, when Death Stranding was announced, many could not wait to see what it brings to the table.
Kojima, however, has showed the game across the industry (albeit doing so behind closed doors). Every developer who chanced upon him has left the demo praising the upcoming title. Some say it is an amazing and revolutionary game, while others could not just find the right words to describe it. The latest individual to applaud the game is none other Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the Rez creator and Tetris Effect producer.
Mizuguchi reportedly saw the latest build of Death Stranding. Later on, he went to Twitter to boast that he “touched the heart” of the game and called it “stunning.” He also said that the game is great, and he is excited to play it.
As what fans may already know, Kojima has been teasing an upcoming trailer for the game. In fact, he revealed recently that it will arrive in the next month or so. It is very likely that the trailer is an extended look at Death Stranding, and it could include some of the same elements Mizuguchi was able to see. Regardless of what it is, it is likely fans will hear more about the highly anticipated game soon.
Death Stranding is in development as a PS4 exclusive, although rumor has it that a PS5 port is also in the works. Since day one, nothing much has been spilled out by Kojima except for the game’s brief yet official story. It reads below:
“Sam Bridges must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the stranded remnants of the future in his hands, Sam embarks on a journey to reunite the shattered world one step at a time. What is the mystery of the Death Stranding? What will Sam discover on the road ahead? A genre-defining gameplay experience holds these answers and more.”
There are rumors suggesting that the game could appear at this year’s E3. But seeing as how Sony is skipping this year's expo, you should take these rumors with a grain of salt.
