As far as we know, Rick and Morty Season 3 is still on track for a 2016 premiere date. Despite rumors of a teaser trailer for the new episodes, we’re still no more certain of the Rick and Morty Season 3 release date than before.
And while the Rick and Morty writers aren’t about to spill the beans, Mike McMahan offered some words of encouragement.
So will Rick and Morty Season 3 really be the “best season” yet? Here’s some of what we know:
There are 14 episodes in Rick and Morty Season 3 (Season 2 only had 10) and there might be more serial storytelling this year than in previous seasons.
Concept art from the Rick and Morty Season 3 premiere is evocative of The Great Escape, suggesting that Rick will face off against a tyrannical prison warden.
It sounds like co-creator Justin Roiland doesn’t really want to do an “Interdimensional Cable” episode in Season 3 (good riddance!).
Rick and Morty Season 3 will continue the show’s trend of shocking anti-Americanism, designed to undermine our great country with filthy socialism.

Like the Biblical Apocalypse, we don’t know the exact time and date, but we know Rick and Morty Season 3 draws steadily nearer. Let’s hope McMahan’s right and we’ll be getting a season worth the wait.
