Rockstar Games recently revealed new free content for "Grand Theft Auto V" (GTA V) just in time for the celebration of St. Patrick's Day.
Rather than generating excitement, the news has left fans frustrated as they wait for "Grand Theft Auto VI" (GTA VI). With little news on the long-awaited sequel since its initial trailer in 2023, most fans feel in the dark.
'GTA V 'Content Drop for St. Patrick's Day
The newest GTA Online addition is St. Patrick's Day-themed, providing players with the Blarneys Stout Tee and celebratory Blarneys Beer Hat. You can access the update until March 19 and is reserved for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Enhanced Edition) players. Although these rewards will likely work for some casual gamers, devoted fans are anything but impressed, Gaming Bible spotted.
Fans Are Getting Weary of 'GTA Online' Updates
Rockstar Games has been consistent in releasing weekly updates and in-game events for "GTA Online." However, these updates are doing little to satisfy fans who are eager for real news on "GTA VI. "
On social media, fans expressed their disappointment about "GTA VI" news. They thought Rockstar was not paying attention to what they wanted to see soon.
No one cares about this game anymore we're just waiting for fall to arrive

What is the difficulty in giving more information about GTA VI? The game launches this year and we don't know anything about the game, I think it will be postponed...

On Reddit, several people expressed the same sentiment about the lack of "GTA VI" announcements.
"Of course, it's almost ready. It's just a trailer. And the last trailer was over a year ago. It's like saying that it will rain this year," Redditor Ni_Ce_ wrote.
"Reportedly almost ready", the number of times this sub has heard that before would be more than 27," jetzxbro commented.
Why Fans Are Desperate for 'GTA VI' Updates
It's been more than a decade since "GTA V" was initially launched in 2013. The game has since then been ported from one console generation to the next, with constant content drops for GTA Online entertaining players in between. That all changed though after Rockstar dropped the "GTA VI" trailer in 2023, and people anticipated more updates on the sequel.
The absence of new information has made everyone feel overlooked. With the phenomenal success of "GTA V," there are extremely high expectations for "GTA VI".
The fans crave information regarding gameplay, the open world, and a firm release date — not more material for a game that's already had a remarkably long life.
Rockstar's Silence is a Double-Edged Sword
Rockstar Games prides itself on keeping its flagship titles under wraps. While it generates hype, it can turn into frustration with a lengthy lapse between updates. Rockstar's approach of putting GTA Online news ahead of GTA VI information has alienated its core fan base.
Some have speculated that Rockstar might be keeping details in silence so as not to overhype the game prematurely. Others feel that the delay in communication is perhaps to make sure that "GTA VI" lives up to the standards of its predecessor. Whatever the reason, the absence of news is generating unrest.
Some even think of not buying "GTA VI" as its rumored price is off the charts. Would you buy it for $110?
