Sailor Moon Crystal Season 1, which covers the Dark Kingdom story arc (with Queen Beryl), will be available in stores and online very soon.
Starting Tuesday Aug. 16th, you’ll be able to pick up your own Blu-ray and/or DVD copy of the first 14 episodes of the Sailor Moon anime reboot, viewable with dubbed English audio or in the original Japanese with English subtitles. The news comes courtesy of Viz.com, which also revealed an unboxing video revealing the bonus items in the Limited Edition set, including some spiffy art cards and an 88-page book including interviews, song lyrics and character art.
You can check out the unboxing video here:
RightStuf is currently offering the Limited Edition set for $62.99, and will be including an exclusive bonus gift, a suncatcher featuring the Sailor Senshi, while supplies last. Amazon is also selling the Limited Edition, but for $79.99. They also have a DVD-only set for $34.99. (Don’t forget, you can still stream all these episodes for free on Hulu, Viz.com and Crunchyroll!)
The first and second seasons of Sailor Moon Crystal left a lot of fans disappointed with their lackluster character development and inconsistent animation quality. Season 3 was a step in the right direction, and it’s very likely there are two more seasons of Sailor Moon Crystal still to come.
