New rumors suggest the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will introduce a new color option to Samsung’s flagship line. A document recently leaked to Twitter (which has since been removed) revealed the Galaxy S8 devices may come in an Orchid Gray color option in addition to Black and Gold options.
The document originates from the database of a Ukrainian retailer, according to SamMobile. It also lists prices for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus as $950 and $1050 respectively, as converted from Ukrainian currency.
If the rumors are accurate, it is possible these color options could be just a few expected for the Galaxy S8 smartphones. Samsung is known for having certain device color options be specific to certain markets. The Gold Platinum Galaxy Note 7 was available in Asian and European markets but not in the U.S., for example.
Samsung also released special color options for handsets months after the initial launch of certain, such as the Pink Gold Galaxy S7 Edge. Samsung introduced the Blue Coral Galaxy S7 Edge after the Galaxy Note 7 was discontinued and the Black Pearl Galaxy S7 Edge after Apple introduced its Jet Black iPhone 7.
Fans have expected these color options would be passed on to future Galaxy flagships; however, there has been no real indication that the Galaxy S8 would be available in Pink Gold, Blue Coral or Black Pearl.
At this time details about the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus remain unconfirmed. Samsung is expected to announce official details about the devices March 29 and release the smartphones to market April 21.
