The Samsung Gear 360 camera is available in the U.S. as of Wednesday, selling for $349.99. The 360-degree camera will be available in limited numbers at VidCon in Anaheim, California June 23-25, with further availability expected later this year.
Samsung first announced the Gear 360 in February alongside the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. The camera is a companion device for both smartphones and the Gear VR headset. Users can record video and capture images, transfer them to a Galaxy S7 handset for editing and and view the content on a Gear VR.
Samsung announced availability for the Gear 360 in Korea and Singapore in April. Further international availability is expected in the coming months.
The Gear 360 features two 15-megapixel fish-eye lenses with F/2.0 aperture, and captures 3,840 x 1,920 resolution video at frame rate of 30 frames per second.
The Gear 360 includes a microSD card that supports up to 128GB of storage and boasts an IP53 certification for dust and water resistance.
