The third-person brawler Sifu is finally coming to Xbox this March 2023, priced at $39.99 on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The game was initially released on PC in February 2022 through the Epic Game Store.
Besides the Xbox release, the game is also coming to Steam on the same date the Xbox version goes live. The Steam version is priced at $39.99, with the Steam Deluxe Edition at $49.99.
Owners of Xbox consoles and those with Steam accounts can look forward to experiencing a story about revenge and redemption once the game arrives next year.
Sifu is set in a fictional Chinese city where players are tasked with uncovering an ancient mystery through a series of difficult confrontations that’ll surely test the limits of their skills. To overcome these difficult challenges, players need to rely on their mastery of kung fu and a magical pendant that can revive them after death. Of course, magic always comes at a price and in this one, a fighter drastically ages for each revival.
New Update
In addition to the planned release for Xbox and Steam, developer Sloclap revealed that a free update is also dropping in March 2023.
The highlight is the new Arenas mode that offers nine stylish new maps, each having exclusive new challenges of varying difficulty levels. This should add multiple hours of the classic gameplay that a lot of fans have come to love.
Those able to complete Arenas unlock a massive new modifiers batch which doubles the current amount available in the game. It also introduces alternative moves to the kung fu palette of the main character. Completing the new Arenas challenges unlocks new cheats and exclusive new outfits.
Sifu is also available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. The game had been considered a success both commercially and critically. Since its launch, around 1.5 million copies have been sold, plus numerous Game of the Year nominations.
