Guillermo Del Toro is still salty about Konami’s cancellation of Silent Hills , and so are we.
On Thursday, Hideo Kojima debuted his new trailer for Death Stranding during the Game Awards 2016, which featured an animated version of Del Toro. The director is apparently playing a character in the new game. Click here to check out the trailer.
Shortly after the video’s release, Del Toro took to Twitter to express his thoughts on about the new Death Stranding teaser.
Fuck, Konami is right! Silent Hills P.T. was a hit with horror fans. The demo took hours to get through and the replay value was insane. There was no way you could unlock all the secrets hidden inside the loop.
Another reason why Konami is the worst is Del Toro’s experience with the company made him want to stay away from video game development. Del Toro joked about his bad luck making video games during an interview with Shack News back in 2015.
“I have proven to be the albatross of video games,” Del Toro told Shack News. “I joined THQ, and THQ goes broke. I join Kojima, and Kojima leaves Konami. I have decided, in order not to destroy anyone else’s life, I have decided I will never again get involved in video games. Otherwise, I’ll join someone and his house will explode, or something."
Konami didn’t even give Del Toro and Kojima the chance to complete development on Silent Hills P.T. and it’s a shame. Norman Reedus was supposed to star in the game, but we like The Walking Dead star in Death Stranding better. He’s very naked in the first teaser, and that’s enough to make us forget what Silent Hills could’ve been.
Actually, no it’s not. We’re still made about Silent Hills being canceled, too! Fuck Konami. What did you think of the Death Stranding trailer? Let us know in the comments below.
