The Sims 4 is releasing new content that can be best described as scary but fun. The Paranormal Stuff Pack is set to be launched on January 26. This is the 18th Stuff Pack and made available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
If you’re new to the game, a stuff pack is typically a smaller package that adds some new objects or clothes. There are some stuff packs though that come with gameplay changes.
The Paranormal Stuff Pack, as the name implies, is all about the things that go bump in the night. For this stuff pack, players get treated to a new lot assignment which is the Haunted House. That said, expect some mischief and mayhem especially from the specters.
The good news is that you’re not going to be facing everything alone. There’s Claude René Duplantier Guidry, for example, a ghost Sim. Players can ask for his help to deal with paranormal problems. However, he can’t be summoned willy-nilly since Sims need to have the Medium skill. The Medium skill actually makes its introduction with this stuff pack. In addition to being able to summon specific NPCs, it also allows players to perform a séance.
Then, there’s Bonehilda who’s making a return to the game. She's one of the NPCs you can summon using the new skill. This is actually her third appearance in the game after The Sims: Makin' Magic and The Sims 3: Supernatural. There are a lot of things she brings to the table but most of all, helping clean up any supernatural mess.
Finally, the Paranormal Stuff Pack further offers a new Career Branch, which is the Freelance Paranormal Investigator.
There’s no question that there are many to unpack with this new content. Learn more about that here.
The Sims 4 was released in 2014 but compared to the previous titles, it lets players Create a Sim using direct mouse manipulation instead of sliders. Like in previous games, several challenges created by players are suggested for others to try out. Since then, the game has already released 10 expansion packs. The last one was Snowy Escape that you can read about here.
