An update to the Sphero BB-8 will turn your droid into the Teddy Ruxpin from hell, syncing the little remote control droid to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The Sphero software update adds a “Watch With Me” feature to the BB-8 App Enabled Droid software.
Once enabled, the BB-8 app will listen along as you watch The Force Awakens, prompting BB-8 to beep along and react to events onscreen. Plus, just in case you have Star Wars prosopagnosia, the Sphero app will tell you when main characters appear with useless notifications like "Resistance fighter detected: Han Solo.”

To access the new features for the Sphero BB-8 update your software and allow the app access to your microphone. Put BB-8 in his charging cradle, select “Watch With Me” in the app and start playing Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
BB-8’s reactions are a combination of mimicking the on-screen droid and reacting to sad, frightening or exciting moments happening in the movie.
