At any given week, more than a handful of titles release on Steam, PC’s biggest gaming platform. What’s probably most surprising is the diversity presented by some of these titles; in any given time frame, you can expect the most popular new releases for the platform to represent a variety of styles, genres and themes. Additionally, some may even be popular only in certain regions, or translate to a worldwide audience.
This is Steam’s newest endeavor for their community blog: to find out the best releases on the platform for every month of the year. Starting with April, Steam will begin looking into the 20 top-selling games released during the previous month, just so we can figure out what people have been playing most in the PC gaming space.
The first batch of games in question, released during April 2019, follows conditions set by Valve to be considered one of the top releases: it must be officially released between April 1 and 30 (early access titles do not count), and its revenue for the first two weeks following its release will be looked at. From that list, Steam has gathered the top 20 Steam releases for the month of April, which you can check out below.
