A day after Guile and his moveset were revealed in Street Fighter V, Capcom has released a trailer showing off the veteran fighter and how his moves work, especially his trademark Sonic Booms.
Capcom revealed how Guile’s specific moves and his use of V-Skills will work, but it’s another thing to watch it in motion. Check out the first Guile trailer in Street Fighter V and beware the Sonic Booms.
While Guile is the main focus of the new Street Fighter V trailer, you can also see the first DLC stage and it’s a classic. The Air Force base, along with Guile, comes with the upcoming April update: it’s free for Season Pass owners and inexpensive for others (you’ll have to spend 70K Zenny in the store).
But back to Guile, we keep talking about his Sonic Booms. In Street Fighter V you’ll want to be aware of it, because it will become very annoying to deal with players who use the move to keep their distance and chain combos.
Guile’s V-Skill is the Sonic Blade and the trailer shows how he can use it to keep a Sonic Boom floating in front of him, forcing opponents into the air or knocking them back. Sonic Blade can help Guile pressure opponents on their wake-up and help him win projectile battles, as it increases Sonic Boom durability.
Solid Puncher is Guile’s V-Trigger, and it powers up and tosses out continuous Sonic Booms. Each button throws a Sonic Boom at a different speed, so mixing up between buttons can create interesting sequences and leave your opponent guessing.
This is shown to great effect at the 43-second mark of the video, if you’re looking for any great combo ideas.
The April update that brings Guile to Street Fighter V is coming later this month, but there is no official release date yet; we’ll update as we learn more.
