Known as Bare Knuckle in Japan, the original Streets of Rage trilogy is known for timeless gameplay and music clearly influenced by electronic dance. Streets of Rage 4 builds on the gameplay and mechanics of the trilogy.
The story itself follows the trilogy, particularly after Streets of Rage 3. In that one, Mr. X had been defeated but that only meant Wood Oak City was now under a new crime syndicate. It’s none other than the children of Mr. X, also known as the Y Twins. Considering what needs to be done, Blaze Fielding calls in old favors for assistance. Joining her are old friends in the likes of Adam Hunter and Axel Stone.
Streets of Rage 4 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. If you still don’t have a copy of the game, now is a good time to do it. At Steam, it’s being offered at a 40% discount until July 30.
