There are a lot of customization options in Pokémon Sun and Moon with the amount of apparel your trainer can wear, and there’s another way to make your trainer stand out: Battle Style.

A trainer’s Battle Style determines how they throw Pokéballs and call on their Pokémon.

It’s a cool little feature that trainers can appreciate but there’s an NPC you need to find to to change your Battle Style and teach you all about it.

The older man on Ula’ula Island at the Recycling Plant on the Outer Cape will teach your trainer all about the Battle Styles. He will also allow you to change your Style. Also, there’s a few Battle Styles for you to choose from/learn but you’ll need to find trainers who will teach it to you.

The rule of thumb is, once you defeat a Kahuna, you can visit the trial captains of that Island in their homes. They will challenge you to a battle and once you beat them, your trainer will remember how they battled.

If you don’t know what trial captains you can face, the old man at the Recycling Plant gives hints to where you can find them.

Here’s a list of Battle Styles in Sun and Moon and where to locate them.

Girlish (defeat Lana in her house)

Reverent (spend time with a romanticist)

Smug (defeat Gladion after becoming Champion)

Left-Handed (Defeat Mallow in her house)
