After the announcement of the My Hero Academia anime in Weekly Shonen Jump, the official website -- via Anime News Network -- for the animated adaption of the popular new manga has revealed two bits of information.
The first, the anime will be produced by studio BONES (Blood Blockade Battlefront,Concrete Revolutio, Noragami Aragoto, Fullmetal Alchemist) and the official website even showed the first visual of what the anime will look like.
The visual, which you can see above, shows off the main protagonist Midoriya with the number one hero in the world, All Might.
My Hero Academia made its debut in July 2014 by Kohei Horikoshi and quickly became one of the more popular manga of the new crop in Weekly Shonen Jump. It was only a matter of time until My Hero Academia received an anime adaptation and the groundwork for it was laid down when TOHO registered a domain name for the series.
It was then teased by Weekly Shonen Jump that a big announcement for the series was coming, along with a spinoff manga. And then the official My Hero Academia manga Twitter account leaked , by accident, the announcement of the anime adaptation.
If you are wondering whether the My Hero Academia anime will be coming stateside, we were told by Viz Media that it’s too early to tell. "We cannot comment on any properties that haven't been officially announced by VIZ....no news has been released by any US distributor on plans for the anime series. These things are often delicately negotiated so nothing can be commented on at this time."
Viz Media has already released the first volume of the manga in August and the second volume is coming.
