Episode 13 ended with our first look at the new “A.” And unshown person is seen in a lair with some of “A’s” old toys, including an Alison mask and a baby doll. The person opens a large container and throws away the black hoodie and gloves that Charlotte used to wear as “A,” and then proceeds to search on an Xster search engine for uniforms.
We’re assuming this is the same person who texted Aria, saying she knew who “did it” and that they would make her talk. We’re also assuming that the thing Aria’s knows is who killed Charlotte. The person signs the text with an emoji of a red skull with horns.
Spencer and Hanna also receive texts; however, we only see Hanna’s shocked face, not what the text says. And Spencer is a bit busy hooking up with Caleb to check her phone. Romantic tension has been building between Spencer and Caleb since the mid-season premiere and in Episode 13, Hanna gives Spencer her blessing to pursue him.
But it’s a wonder the liars have any time for romance with all of the drama that has arisen from Charlotte’s death. After confronting Aria, Hanna erases the footage of Aria leaving the Radley Hotel the night Charlotte was killed. However, the police quickly catch on and not only is Hanna’s mother Ashley, who runs the hotel, being held accountable, Aria, Spencer, Hanna and Emily must stay in town for further questioning.
Hanna bumps into her old friend Lucas and quickly thinks to use him to be part of her alibi. The two agree to tell the police that Lucas stopped by her room at the Radley and talked all night. However, when the two are interviewed by Officer Calderone, their story begins to unravel.
Spencer has also been interviewed by a journalist covering her mother’s senate election. Spencer thinks the journalist is also fishing for information about DiLaurentis case, but she then learns that Mona is working for the other candidate. Spencer’s sister is also in town to support her mother's election. The last time we saw Melissa, she was living in London.
Meanwhile, the Liars are still suspicious of Ezra and believe he may have something to do with Charlotte's death. However when they confront the already brooding writer, he just yells and kicks them out of his apartment. At this point, Aria is the only person that believes Ezra did not kill Charlotte.
Emily is also having to deal with seeing Sara Harvey almost everywhere she goes. In addition to the Liars seeing her at Charlotte’s funeral, Emily has also seen her at the cemetery and at the Radley Hotel Spa. Emily confronts Sara at the Radley Hotel bar and Sara taunts her about knowing how her hands got injured. We now know that Sara was shocked after Emily punched her. She tried to place her hands on a metal box to steady herself. However the box was charged and she was electrocuted.
In Episode 14, the police are doubling down in their investigation of Hanna after her fake alibi unraveled during questioning. The police have put out a statement that they know the murder weapon that killed Charlotte. Seeing this press conference in TV makes Hanna even more anxious.
Meanwhile, Aria is trying to search for clues to prove Ezra’s innocence. Spencer and Caleb are working together to uncover the new “A.”
The rest of the story unfolds Tuesday when Pretty Little Liars Season 6 Episode 14 airs at 8 p.m. EDT on Freeform.
