'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Spoilers Canceled: Jon Snow Actor Kit Harington Hasn’t Been Filming, Insists 'He’s Dead'

Still dead. Same dead Jon Snow eyes. Dead dead dead.
Still dead. Same dead Jon Snow eyes. Dead dead dead. HBO

The biggest Game of Thrones season 6 spoiler ( Jon Snow isn’t dead ) has been effectively canceled by the man himself. Jon Snow and his living face have been plastered all over HBO’s Game of Thrones Season 6 promotional material but actor Kit Harington insists to Digital Spy that Jon Snow is well and truly dead. You can go ahead and erase all those elaborate “Jon Snow is alive” spoilers from your memory banks.

“People didn’t want me to die, but he’s dead. So there you go, everyone has to get used to it,” Harington said of Jon Snow. Furthermore, Harington says he hasn’t even been shooting Game of Thrones, telling Digital Spy , “I haven’t done Thrones in a while. I had quite a lot of time off last year. I’ve been taking it easy and relaxing.”

Game of Thrones Season 6 Teaser Trailer

– Jon Snow. Jon Snow? Jon Snow!

The astute Game of Thones Season 6 spoiler spy is left with two distinct possibilities. The first is that Kit Harington will not be returning for Game of Thrones Season 6. With every assumption running the other way, this would be a genuinely immense spoiler. Sorry for spoiling it.

The other possibility is that obfuscatory tactics are being deployed by Harrington to elide the difference between “Jon Snow is currently dead” and “Jon Snow will remain dead throughout Game of Thrones Season 6, as he is dead in the classic sense alongside Monty Python’s parrot and your great-great-grandparents.”

The possibility of Kit Harington and HBO getting all squirrely when it comes to the death of Jon Snow allows room for all our our fancy proclamations, like:

“Hark! Snow Hath Been Released From His Oath To The Night’s Watch!”

And…

Lo , The Third Head Of The Dragon Has Been Found, All Praise To Daenerys Stormborn Of The House Targaryen, The First Of her Name, The Unburnt, Queen Of Meereen, Queen Of The Andals And The Rhoynar And The First Men, Khaleesi Of The Great Grass Sea, Breaker Of Chains, And Mother Of Dragons!”

Despite Harington’s insistence that he’s really just been chilling, it’s a safe bet that when he says “he’s dead,” what he really means is, “for now.”

The truth will out April 24, when Game of Thrones Season 6 premieres on HBO.

Instead of appearing in Game of Thrones Season 6 Jon Snow is looking forward to watching it. “Can’t wait for the next season,” Harington said to Digital Spy .
