Samsung is working to provide more iOS support for many of its applications, tech publication SamMobile reported Monday. The company is reportedly expanding its software compatibility in accordance with its Internet of Things (IoT) initiative to have devices easily connect and communicate with one another.
The Korean manufacturer announced iOS support for the Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch earlier this month, meaning the device will be able to pair with iPhones. Future iOS compatibility with Samsung devices and applications will take a similar approach.
Once established, iOS users will be able to install applications including Samsung’s Gear Fit Manager and S-Health into their Apple devices, such as iPhones. Samsung is also working on iOS compatibility for apps like Remote Control and the Family Square, photo sharing app , which would allow iPhone users to control the Samsung Galaxy View tablet with their smartphones.
Samsung is also expected to bring iOS compatibility to its Smart Camera app, according to SamMobile. This would allow iOS users to connect their handsets to a Samsung smart camera, to view and edit photos.
Early January reports indicated iOS compatibility with the Samsung Gear S2 would happen by mid-month; however, there have not yet been any updates announced.
