The Apple September 2015 event will take place at one of the biggest conference halls in downtown San Francisco, the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, where Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to announce Apple’s new updates of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus line, as well updates to the Apple TV and iPad lines.
The iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus biggest new feature to be announced at the Apple September 2015 event will be the Force Touch technology from the Apple Watch . Force Touch is a pressure based system that analyzes how hard a finger pushes down on the glass by measuring between three levels of differentiation: a regular tap, a press and a deeper press.
The Apple September 2015 event should also preview the long-awaited camera update, the first update to the iPhone’s camera since the iPhone 4s, four models ago. The rear camera’s quality will be bumped to 12-megapixels , from the current 8-megapixels, while the front camera will be upgraded from 1.2-megapixels to 5-megapixels. The processor will be receiving an upgrade from A8 to a speedier A9, and the RAM will also be getting an upgrade to 2GB.
Not everyone is particularly excited about the lack of a game changer for the iPhone line, and especially not investors: as USA Today reports, Apple stock has been dropping for the first time ever in the run up to the Apple September 2015 event. Investor fatigue with the iPhone is partly the reason Apple is rumored to be releasing a new version of the Apple TV, plus two new versions of the iPad line, in what seems to be an attempt to diversify their profit base.
The Apple TV’s upgrade will completely revolutionize how the device currently operates, with developers finally being allowed to create apps for the Apple TV platform. There will also be an implementation of Siri for the device, a complete overhaul of the grid based interface and a universal search feature, meaning you can now search for movies in the Netflix or HBO systems simultaneously.
Lastly, Apple will continue to blur the edges between their different product lines by releasing an iPad with a much larger screen, supposedly one measuring 12.9-inches diagonally according to Bloomberg. To give some comparison, the Macbook currently has a 12-inch screen while the base level Macbook Pro has a 13.3-inch screen. It is rumored that the new iPad will allow split screen multitasking as well, giving some functionality to the iPad line that can only currently be replicated on a dedicated computer.
The iPad mini 4 is also expected to be announced, with a hardware upgrade and a slimmer design that is supposed to match the iPad Air 2 current specifications.
