Netflix has released the first Fuller House cast photos, and it shows the new stewards of the Tanner-family-focused reboot warmly embrace the same spirit that gave so many seasons of life to the widely popular and nostalgically remembered Full House.
Fuller House’s official release date has been set as Feb. 26, 2016, but anticipation is running high for the premiere to finally just come on Netflix.
The orginality behind Fuller House is that instead of three guys trying to care of a house full of kids, it’s been reversed from the original series. In Fuller House, D.J. Tanner-Fuller, best friend forever Kimmy Gibbler and D.J.’s sister, Stephanie, will be in charge of keeping the house from burning down.
D.J., played by Candace Bure, moves back to the same house featured so prominently in Full House with her three boys following the death of her husband. Gibbler, played by Andrea Barber, moves into the Fuller House home with her teenage daughter, played by Soni Bringas, and joins her as a single mother. Stephanie, played by Jodie Sweetin, is an aspiring musician who is just happy to be there for her sister, and moves into the Fuller House home to join the big family.
Even more exciting is that the show’s old ensemble, such as Uncle Jesse, played by John Stamos, Danny, played by Bob Saget, and Joey, played by Dave Coulier, will be returning to the show as voiceover guest stars. Their voices can be identified in the teaser shown below which Netflix released over the holidays. It could possibly provide some clue as to what their role as guest stars could be on Fuller House.
"It's surreal being back," Coulier said to People during their exclusive photo shoot on the Fuller House set. The entire original cast, besides two obvious exceptions, reunited to tape the premiere episode. "It's like moving out of your house when you're a kid and then you move back in. It shouldn't be this much fun."
The teaser below in specific has proven to be highly successful for Netflix, and is one of the few pre-season promo videos they’ve released that managed to net over 10 million views before its premiere.
