There’s a curious new website that appears to be counting down to a brand new Dragon Ball Z announcement.
The website , whose URL says Fly Through Time, has a collage of Dragon Ball movie posters, screens from the anime and even official Dragon Ball video game images from Xenoverse and Extreme Butoden .
UPDATE: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has been confirmed! Check out the first trailer.
Bandai Namco, the publisher that handles the Dragon Ball video games, and Toei Animation, which handles the Dragon Ball anime are both mentioned on the site, so it is likely video game related. If a game is announced, it is very possibly an anime adaptation.
“Fly Through Time” immediately harkens back to the Dragon Ball Xenoverse story, where your character was thrust into the Dragon Ball timeline to “fix” certain events changed by the main antagonist.
Sean Schemmel (the voice of Goku) recently answered a question about Xenoverse 2 by teasing that he’s worked on a secret Dragon Ball project this mysterious countdown refers to that project.
However, this is pure speculation at the moment, and Bandai Namco was not immediately available to comment at the time of this writing. We will update when Bandai Namco comments.
The latest confirmed Dragon Ball video game is Project Fusion for the Nintendo 3DS, which allows players to fuse any two characters from the anime/manga in a story that takes you through different eras of the Dragon Ball anime.
The countdown is expected to end at around 10am EDT.
