Recently, we shared studies that suggest total active PC gamers on Titanfall 2 are just two percent of what PC servers for Battlefield 1 are supporting, which were in partly due to the fact that Titanfall 2’s release date landed dead smack in the middle of Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Titanfall 2 developer Respawn hopes to claw back some gamers with crucial game updates and direct communication with the now very much involved community on Reddit.
The update for Titanfall 2 arrived Nov. 5 and features some rebalancing to “Map Hack,” Titan balancing (Legion and Tone) and Amped LMG’s. The Respawn team also corrected an issue of bad spawning start areas on Exoplanet. Additionally, players can now engage in solo matches privately.
Respawn delivered its patch notes in a not-so-traditional manner – by sharing the patch notes on Reddit. With this approach, Respawn is able to receive feedback from the folks who matter the most, the players, and address the community’s needs. Community manager Jay Frechette shared the patch notes but opted to not go into further details:
Frechette presented the patch notes for the new Titanfall 2 update, available now, in a relatively vague fashion on Reddit, “The reason why we are not giving you folks specific details on the balancing is because we want you to just play and feel it out and let us know if it works.”
For the most part, Redditors and players alike took to the news with open arms and were happy to hear from Respawn.

Titanfall 2 was extremely well received with some good reviews at launch and hopefully the update will allow it to better compete with the big shooters like BF1 and COD: Infinite Warfare. Titanfall 2 is available to play on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
