Publisher Activision and developer Vicarious Visions have just released a new set of trailers for the upcoming skate simulator game Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2. The trailer showcases the line-up of new skaters that will be joining the original game’s roster, as well as announcing its release date and a pre-order demo.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is the remastered version for the critically acclaimed first two titles of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, which were released in 1999 and 2000 respectively. As always, visual improvements are to be expected that will be a far cry from their ancestors’ blocky graphics. The remaster will also bring to life reimagined versions of the games’ iconic levels such as the Hangar and Warehouse. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 will also resurrect the game’s popular soundtrack and old school tricks, as well as adding new ones that have been invented since. The game’s original roster (Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Geoff Rowley, Bucky Lasek, Elissa Steamer, Kareem Campbell, Andrew Reynolds, Bob Burnquist, Chad Muska) will still be in the game with the addition of the new skaters that have just been announced. These are Nyjah Huston, Leo Baker, Leticia Bufoni, Aori Nishimura, Lizzie Armanto, Shane O’Neill, Riley Hawk, and Tyshawn Jones.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 has also made substantial improvements regarding the game’s Create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater modes, such as the ability to share creations online. Other additions include online multiplayer modes, multiple challenge modes that will feature even more goals, a robust park and skater editing tool, and much more. Lastly, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 will also release a Warehouse Demo for those who have already pre-ordered the game digitally. The demo will be available starting on August 14, more than two weeks ahead of its confirmed launch date.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is set to release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store on September 4. There has been no news yet on whether PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions are also in the works, but it would be unsurprising to see if next-gen versions do get announced.
