Creative Assembly's turn-based action game Total War: Three Kingdoms received a massive expansion pack today. As previously announced, The Furious Wild DLC is now available for purchase on Steam and it costs only $17. The developers have made sure that the DLC is worth every penny. The Three Kingdoms map has been expanded for the very first time and new diverse characters have been added.
The DLC will put you in the Jungles of Southern China, which is divided by several tribes and factions. Your objective is to unite the land by any means necessary and fight off the northern attack. The DLC doesn’t just expand the map, it also makes several other additions. Four new playable factions are introduced, and each of them has unique abilities. Overall there are a total of 19 new factions.
That’s not all, 25+ new units have been added into Three Kingdoms, including some animal units. This will make for some epic (and ruthless) battles. Features of the new expansion pack are mentioned below, courtesy of Steam.
- Four new playable factions each with their own unique mechanics, with 19 new factions overall populating southern China
- 25+ new units including exciting and formidable animal units
- New ferocious character artwork
- New Nanman-specific tech tree with keystone technologies requiring missions to be completed
- A completely new character progression style, with feats used to unlock traits
- Unique missions and narrative events bespoke for the Nanman culture
- One goal to ‘Unite the Tribes’, but how will you achieve it, through diplomacy or conquest?
- Playable in 190 and 194 start dates
Right now, the expansion pack is only available for Windows via Steam. Linux and macOS versions will release soon. Keep in mind that this is not a standalone DLC. You will need to purchase the base Three Kingdoms game as well.
