Publisher and developer Angry Mob Games officially announced Trinity Fusion , a new action roguelite platformer launching on consoles and PC via Steam sometime in 2023. At the time of writing, Angry Mob Games has not yet confirmed the consoles Trinity Fusion will be released on, and its store page is only up on Steam. The game will have a closed beta soon, with ongoing sign-ups and registrations for players interested in checking the game out early. To celebrate the announcement, Angry Mob Games also released a trailer, which you can check out below.
The trailer shows off some gameplay footage and Trinity Fusion’s premise, which is the breakdown of the multiverse and the protagonist’s journey to stop this decay. It also looks more fast-paced and action-oriented than most other action platformers in the genre, with the main character able to juggle enemies into smooth moves and combos.
Trinity Fusion lets you take control of three parallel selves on a very important mission to save a dying multiverse. In the game, you will explore a dark sci-fi world while engaging in smooth, fast-paced, and precise combat to take down futuristic enemies. Trinity Fusion features both procedurally-generated levels and hand-crafted challenges and arenas for a diverse and unique roguelite experience.
The game features a wide variety of weapons and attack systems based on the developer’s previous games, more specifically, the party fighting game Brawlout . The player can slide, dash, and dodge enemy attacks for a slick action experience. As for the parallel selves, the player will control Altara, the Gadgeteer; Kera, the Warrior; and Naira, the Ranger. All three boast different strengths and skills that you must utilize to defeat various enemies.
As a roguelite, Trinity Fusion will also feature permanent upgrades to help with the constant progression of the game. These upgrades can be utilized from a Hub where players can discover new starting points for each run and reclaim major locations in each universe. This is a way to assist players who find themselves stuck on a particularly hard area of the map, acting as a way to lower the difficulty or increase it.
