Ubisoft has announced major delays for two of their mobile video game projects, according to their first quarter earnings report for 2024 released on Thursday, July 18. In particular, these delays impact Rainbow Six Mobile as well as The Division Resurgence.

The company stated that the upcoming free-to-play mobile shooter games Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence are not expected to launch within their current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2025.

This means that both titles are now expected to be released sometime between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, during Ubisoft's next fiscal year.

Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence are both part of Ubisoft's Tom Clancy banner.

Ubisoft cited that their development teams need more time to "deliver on expectations" for a "demanding yet very large market."

The publisher had previously stated that both titles are complete versions of their respective console counterparts, but they have been developed from scratch for touchscreen mobile devices.

Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence Were First Announced in 2022

Both titles were first announced in 2022, with Rainbow Six Mobile being unveiled in April, while The Division Resurgence released its trailer in July.

Prior to the recent announcement, The Division Resurgence had an undated release window within the year 2024.

On the other hand, Rainbow Six Mobile was expected to launch in September 2024.

Both mobile titles, touted as "triple-A" mobile games by Ubisoft, have hosted multiple closed betas over the past two years. Those interested in the games should note that pre-registrations are still available for both games on iOS and Android.

The French publisher has previously canceled its upcoming free-to-play shooter game, The Division Heartland last May, deciding to redirect their resources towards more prominent projects such as XDefiant and the Rainbow Six series.

The scrapped project was supposed to be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Amazon Luna.

Ubisoft Reports 'Solid Start' for Current Fiscal Year

Ubisoft appears to be in good spirits following their first quarter earnings report, describing the results as a "solid start to the year." The company likewise reported net bookings that exceeded their targets.

The company's Q1 net bookings amounted to €290 million (approximately $315 million), surpassing the target of around €275 million (approximately $299 million). This amount is also an 8.3% increase from a year ago at the same period.
