Naughty Dog’s Uncharted movie is getting steady attention as of late and the biggest question in the minds of anxious fans is who will play Nathan Drake?
As reported by Collider, director Shawn Levy is keeping developments close to the chest and sadly, won’t entertain any potential actors at this time. According to Levy, he has seen overwhelming feedback from Twitter as fans have already pitched countless suggestions on who will play Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie.
“It’s every actor who is ruggedly handsome, which is to say every movie star, and who looks anything like the square-jawed, chiseled-featured Drake,” Levy said. Does this not describe Nathan to a ‘T’? Some of the handsome and Nathan Drake-worthy suggestions Levy has heard via Twitter include: Oscar Isaac (Ex-Machina), Chris Pratt (Jurassic World), Chris Pine (Star Trek Beyond), Chris Evans (Captain America), and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones).
At this point, Levy stated, the only conversations that are had are between the studio and producers, “talking about who feels right to us and to me.” It’s completely unknown whether the role of the treasure-hunting protagonist will ultimately go to one of the names that have been mentioned on Twitter.
But if casting and Joe Carnahan’s script moves along on schedule, then Levy aims to start filming Uncharted as soon as spring 2017, which is exciting news all around.
While the suggestions are just suggestions and nothing is definite, I personally would love to see Oscar Isaac or Dylan McDermott from American Horror Story: Murder House (Season 1). Who would you like to see cast as Nathan Drake? Share your thoughts below!
