Undying is a game that tells the story of a mother and son doing what they can to survive a zombie apocalypse. A new update has been released for the game which introduces new features and new content that's sure to make things exciting or difficult, depending on how you look at it. The highlights are a new mode and a new mechanic.
Let’s start with the new mechanic, Zombie Hordes. The hordes are going to appear on Day 20 of the Story Mode. The thing is that you shouldn’t try to take them head-on. Instead, try to find a way to escape before they overwhelm you.
New Survival Mode
The new Survival Mode unlocks when players finish Day 30 of the main game. Features of this new mode are:
- Map locations are unlocked in random order. This means a new experience for every playthrough.
- Challenges such as power outages, rain, zombie hordes, Anling’s symptoms, and declines, etc., come earlier than in Story Mode.
- Every few days, the enemy's HP and attack power increase slightly.
- Survival mode exclusive NPC. He appears every few days, so be sure to take advantage if you find him.
- You only have one life in Survival Mode. If you die, it's game over and you need to start over.
- There are a lot of changes in Survival Mode left for players to discover.
By the way, the zombie hordes appear on Day 7 of Survival Mode.
Undying offers players a survival game that comes with a full narrative story. The main features of the game include:
- A unique skill system that combines Anling’s actions with Cody’s ability to survive.
- Ranged and melee combat against zombies as a mother and son team. The more you fight, the more Cody finds his strength.
- Crafting and salvaging enough gear to make the journey through dozens of maps.
- A deep narrative of strength and hope within the apocalypse.
Undying is now available in Early Access for Steam and the Epic Games Store. The full version is set to be released in 2022 and in addition to PC, it’s also going to be available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.
