Publisher Square Enix and developer Soleil announced the first major patch to Valkyrie Elysium, the November Update, including a new mode and features. The game is yet to be released for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on September 29. The PC version is coming to Steam on November 11. It’s confirmed that this patch will be included in the PC launch version, although it’s yet to be confirmed what the actual release date of the patch is.
As described in a Japanese gaming outlet (translation), here are the new features coming with the November update of Valkyrie Elysium.
Hilde’s Vengeance – A new mode where you play as Hilde, which offers a new action experience compared to playing as the Valkyrie, including shadow attacks, Hilde’s dedicated skill tree, and more.
Seraphic Gate – High difficulty time attack battles unlocked after clearing the main story. Each tier restricts the weapons and skills that can be used and has special rewards for clearing every battle.
New Difficulty Settings: Very Hard/Valkyrie – The new difficulties “Very Hard” and “Valkyrie” for players who want to enjoy a more challenging level of action.
Valkyrie Elysium is priced at $59.99 across all platforms for the Standard Edition. A Digital Deluxe Edition for PS4 and PS5 is also available for $74.99, while $64.99 on PC. This is because the PC version will only carry the Valkyrie equipment “Svartaljr: Sword of the Goddess of the Underworld” as a bonus, unlike the PlayStation versions having the Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth game as an extra. Valkyrie Elysium is now available to pre-purchase across all platforms. Pre-purchasing the game on PC will give players 72-hour early access and original wallpapers.
Valkyrie Elysium is the fifth title in the long-running Valkyrie Profile series. Set in a doomed and collapsing world on the brink of Ragnarok, the End Times, players take on the role of the Valkyrie, an emissary of redemption created by the All-Father Odin himself. The Valkyrie must now engage in the evils and monsters plaguing this doomed world to bring the redemption it deserves.
