Maggie’s desire to avenge Glenn’s death might hasten a possible comic book storyline in The Walking Dead Season 7.
Xander Berkeley, who plays Gregory on the show, spoke to ComicBook.com about the possible confrontation with his character and Maggie. Berkeley had an interesting response.
"[Maggie’s] a little carried away with herself, frankly, if you ask me," Berkeley told ComicBook.com.
For those unfamiliar with the comics, Maggie moves to The Hilltop shortly after she finds out she’s pregnant. Glenn insists that they move there because it’s the only community capable of giving Maggie prenatal care. The doctor at Hilltop has medicine and an ultrasound machine. Unfortunately, Negan confronts Rick’s group on their way to Hilltop. Negan kills Glenn, and Maggie is never the same.
During her time at The Hilltop, Maggie challenges Gregory’s decisions. People start to look to Maggie for advice and realize Gregory is just a coward. Gregory and Maggie don’t like each other. Gregory also doesn’t like that Maggie keeps denying him sex and Maggie thinks he’s scum. Maggie eventually convinces the Hilltop community that they must fight Negan, a decision Gregory doesn’t want any part of.
We might see the tension between Maggie and Gregory build very quickly. Berkeley didn’t comment on his plot lines for The Walking Dead Season 7, but did tell ComicBook.com he’s “so excited to have the audience see what's revealed in the coming episodes.”
Maggie needs a win. We hope the rest of her pregnancy goes well and can’t wait to see her rise again. What comic book storylines would you like to see in the show?
