Seems like everyone’s too distracted by Negan’s arrival to realize there are two characters we haven’t seen yet in The Walking Dead Season 7: Heath and Tara.
Let’s take a few steps back here. In The Walking Dead Season 6, Heath and Tara left for an extended run to get supplies. Tara told Dr. Denise (R.I.P.) she loved her before she left to take care of the Saviors and then head out for the supply run. Tara confessed to Father Gabriel she felt guilty for saying that because she didn’t really mean it. Father Gabriel assures her she did the right thing by saying it, and Tara and Heath eventually leave together.
Fast forward to The Walking Dead Season 7, still no sign of Tara of Heath. This makes us suspicious as characters we don’t see for an extended period of time usually come back with a purpose, like Morgan. We saw Tara in The Walking Dead Season 7 teaser, but there wasn’t enough context to figure out where they went until now.
The Spoiling Dead Fans (TSDF) page recently shared images of an alleged junkyard set for The Walking Dead Season 7. There is no reference to a junkyard in comic books, but there appears to be several younger children that might call this place their home. TSDF calls them the “ Garbage Pail Kids.”
It would make sense for Tara and Heath to come across them during their supply run. We know Negan’s reach basically stretches just outside of Washington D.C., so if Tara and Heath went further out to scavenge supplies there’s no way they would’ve encountered them. After all, months went by before Rick’s group even became away of the Hilltop community and the Saviors.
Still, it’ll be interesting to see another group’s introduction in the show, especially if it’s younger kids. Alexandria only has Judith, Enid and Carl. The Kingdom has more children, but they don’t stand a chance of survival if they go to war with Negan. If these kids are living in a junkyard, they’re probably survivors like Carl and Enid.
Of course, this is mostly speculation. The Walking Dead hasn’t confirmed anything about Tara, Heath or the alleged “Garbage Pail Kids.” Do you have a theory as to who these people might be? Let us know in the comments below. The Walking Dead Season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
