We haven’t forgotten about Heath in The Walking Dead Season 7 and neither should you. The character didn’t die on-screen, so we know he’ll be back one way or the other. The question now is when will he return?
Heath isn’t a particularly important character in The Walking Dead, but it’s odd that the show’s creators decided to have him vanish in the first part of Season 7. Heath doesn’t really pull off a disappearing at all in the comic books and the actor who plays The Walking Dead character, Corey Hawkins, has signed on to 24: Legacy to play Eric Carter.
However, Hawkins confirmed to Yahoo! TV there are big plans for his character Heath in the show.
“Listen, [ TWD showrunner] Scott Gimple is a genius and master in how he’s been able to continue to craft the show,” Hawkin told Yahoo! TV, referring to splitting his time between The Walking Dead and 24: Legacy . “We’ve been in conversations about it.”
He added, “We all joke about how there’s like a red [laser] dot that appears… like somehow, someone’s lurking in the closet, and as soon as you open your mouth about The Walking Dead , it’s like, ‘Uh-oh,’ you know?’ I’ll just say that we’ve been in conversation about it, and how we could make this work. My obvious priority right now is Eric Carter.”
But what could Heath be up to? Could he be on the hunt for a huge stash of weapons? Seems a bit convenient of a way to tie up a loose end. Heath’s been missing for a long time, but don’t worry there’s a lot of weapons here so we should be ok now!
If we had to guess, Heath might pull off a Daryl moment like in The Walking Dead Season 6 with the fiery lake of walkers. Heath is going to come to Alexandria during an intense fight with the Saviors and turn the tides of battle a la Sansa in Game of Thrones ’ Battle of the Bastards.
Yeah, we really don’t know what’s going with Heath, but at least fans can relax and know that he’s alive somewhere since we didn’t see him die on-screen.
