A new event is now live in War Thunder, which is going to take the entire month of September to finish. A total of eight tasks are spread over the entire month, and completing each gives a trophy that contains a reward.
The rewards that can be obtained are:
- 20-50% RP booster for 3-10 battles.
- 20-50% SL booster for 3-10 battles.
- 3-5 universal backup vehicles.
- 1 day of premium account.
- A random camouflage for ground vehicles.
Completion Reward
Players able to finish all eight tasks can get the special profile icon of Marcario García. For those not familiar, Marcario Garcia was the first Mexican immigrant to get the Medal of Honor, the highest-military award given in the US. Garcia was part of the Invasion of Normandy and received his first honors in the summer of 1944.
While fighting the German forces under Grosshau during the Battle of Hürtgen Forest, Garcia was able to destroy two enemy machine gun nests and take four prisoners, all by himself. He also kept on fighting until he completed his task despite being injured.
The Tasks
The tasks can be completed in random battles except for Assault mode. The tasks are:
- Operation Grand Slam (September 1 to September 4)
- This was a pivotal operation of the Second Indo-Pakistani war of 1965.
- Berlin Victory Parade of 1945 (September 5 to September 8)
- While the fighting in Berlin had died down in May of 1945, the big victory parade with all the Allies took place at a later date so the Allies decided to hold it after World War II was over.
- Operation Achse (September 8 to September 11)
- This happened in 1943 after the Allies had landed on Sicily and a coup d’etat happened in Italy where Benito Mussolini’s government was removed from power and the new leadership surrendered to the Allies.
- Riga offensive (1944) (September 12 to September 15)
- After the success of the Siauliai Offensive and the victory over the German forces in Estonia, the Red Army made the decision to conduct a final operation to split the North and Center Army Groups of the Wehrmacht.
- Battle of Chawinda (September 16 to September 19)
- It happened in mid-September 1965 and was the biggest tank battle since the Battle of Kursk took place.
- Battle of Hürtgen Forest (September 19 to September 22)
- The battle of Hürtgen Forest started on September 19, 1944, and lasted for three months. It became the longest battle in the history of the US Army.
- Tuapse defensive operation (September 23 to September 26)
- September 25, 1942, saw the start of the Tuapse Defensive Operation. This was part of the strategic Battle of the Caucasus.
- Operation Halberd (September 27 to September 30)
- In late September of 1941, the British Royal Navy delivered a supply convoy to Malta and the Italians tried to intercept it but were deterred by the strength of the escorting force.
