Warhammer: Vermintide 2 announced that its newest expansion Chaos Wastes is now available. This latest addition to the game arrives as a free update and includes Twitch Integration where fans can join the fun and help streamers on their adventures by voting what’s going to happen next.
In a statement, Fatshark CEO Martin Wahlund said that they are excited for players to start their adventures in the Chaos Wastes. You can watch what to expect in the new expansion in the video below:
Welcome to the Chaos Wastes
Chaos Wastes is the next chapter in the story and players need to reach the Citadel of Eternity. There’s a catch, however, as only those who are pure at heart can finish the journey. For players, it means they must leave whatever armor they have and go back to basics. If you think that’s difficult, then be prepared for more because the region is rather unpredictable, and only a true pilgrim can navigate through it without a map.
New Features
In addition to expanding the story of the game, the expansion also offers these new features:
- Pilgrim’s Coins
- The Chaos Waste has unique coins which players can use to trade for weapons or godly favor. The key here is knowing when to use and spend them.
- Chest of Trials
- Players who want more challenge can get more through the rare Chests of Trials.
- Open the chest draws the attention of an enemy that grants a reward when defeated.

- Shrines
- There are a lot of uncorrupted shrines across the Chaos Wastes.
- Players can ask for favors from the gods through Miracles and Boons.
- However, these favors are not given without any sacrifice.
- Waystone Altars
- These are actually weapon stashes used by the previous pilgrims.
- It’s accessible by sacrificing Pilgrim’s Coins.
- The more coins needed, the more powerful the weapon inside.

- Potions
- The journey may be long and difficult but making the travel a bit better are the mysterious potions scattered in the area.
