Watch Dogs: Legion announced that its online mode will likely release early next year. Until that time, there will be a series of tests to be launched to ensure everything is in order.
This was revealed in a post made by the Watch Dogs: Legion Dev Team. The team revealed that they’ve put in more robust early indicators that will flag issues for them before it gets to the players. The main goal is to give players “the smoothest experience.” They continued that “using additional tools we now have in place, be more reactive in making any necessary improvements in the future.”
It was last month when the Dev Team said that they were delaying the online mode due to bugs. These include game saves not working, lost progress, and even general crashes. You can read more on that here.
While there’s no question that the delay serves as bad news for some players, they are at least assured. When the online mode does get released, it’s going to be more enjoyable. Also, the team said that they actually have “a full year’s worth of content to roll out.” This content is for both the single-player mode and online mode.
Title Update 2.40
Last week, the game released Title Update 2.40 that introduced some quality of life changes. The most important change is the ray-tracing support for AMD users. Read more about this update here.
Talking about this update, the Dev Team noted that this patch should address some of the remaining “major issues some layers were having.” With the online mode delayed, the team mentioned that they’re going to continue making “improvements to single player as needed.” They are confident in saying that the game as it is right now “is in a solid state for all players across all platforms.”
Watch Dogs: Legion is the sequel to Watch Dogs 2 and the third installment in the Watch Dogs series. The game was released in October 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. A version for the Xbox Series X/S was launched on November 10, 2020. While the PlayStation 5 version was released two days later.
