While Adult Swim released a Rick and Morty animatic from Season 3 online, that wasn’t the only Rick and Morty video shared with 2016 Comic-Con attendees. After premiering at a Harmontown Live podcast recording with Rick and Morty co-creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, a new, animatic clip featuring both Rick and Morty was screened at the Adult Swim on the Green Comic-Con event. Now the video has leaked online.
The scene features Rick and Morty recast as a defendant and judge, reenacting a transcript from a trial in Georgia that’s been described as “the most insane court transcript in U.S. history”:
While the scene won’t be in Rick and Morty Season 3 (Dan Harmon described it as a “mini-movie” he’d only screen if his podcast recording was running low on material), Rick and Morty storyboard artist Erica Hayes added animatics to Justin Roiland’s vocal performance (Roiland voices both Rick and Morty).
With Rick and Morty Season 3 still months away, this scene likely represents the most we’ll see out of the characters until the Season 3 premiere date.
