The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has no lack of content. It is one of those very few games that has both quantity and quality, but there’s always room for more. TW3 has a massive fanbase and they are the reason for the constant flow of new mods. Just a few days ago, a new mod came out and it added something really cool.
The A Night to Remember mod is a quest developed by nikich340. It resumes the story of Geralt after the conclusion of the Blood and Wine expansion pack. It’s inspired by the TW3 Launch trailer titled “A Night to Remember” that acts as an epilogue of the game.
In the Blood and Wine expansion pack, Geralt tells Orianna that he will come back for her. CD Projekt wanted the above trailer to finish the story, but in this mod, you actually play it yourself. This is a complete quest with different choices and outcomes, new characters, and voice acting. It is quite impressive, but imagine what more the modder could have made if he had access to the official tools.
There are certain prerequisites that you should have before playing this new quest. You need to complete the Blood and Wine expansion pack and must know about the “Blood Simple” Quest, its Unseen Elder Path. You don’t have to necessarily choose this path in the game, but you should at least know what happens.
To install the mod:
- Download zip file from this page.
- Extract contents of the zip file.
- Place dlcNightToRemember into your DLC directory, with other official DLCs: (C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonThe Witcher 3DLC) for Steam. Be sure not to leave empty folders leftover from extraction here as your DLCs will no longer load correctly.
- Place modNightToRemember into the Mods directory with other mods. If you haven't installed any other mods, simply create a folder called Mods inside the main The Witcher 3 folder.
- Download savegame from the mod page, if you don't have one that fits requirements (completed Blood and Wine main story). Put it into your savegames folder (usually, it is "DocumentsThe Witcher 3gamesaves").
- To begin A Night to Remember quest, simply start playing The Witcher 3. You will be prompted to start a new quest immediately.
The mod author cautioned players to set English speech-language in settings before starting the quest. Otherwise, you will have silent scenes without lip-sync animation and even with jerked scene animations somewhere.
There’s more Witcher content for you. CD Projekt has announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will get a free next-gen upgrade later this year. Until then, you can use the HD Reworked Mod to make your game look good.
