Earlier this week, Samsung revealed the details of its upcoming flagship device, the Galaxy S20. The company also revealed its next folding device, the Galaxy Z Flip, at the company's Unpacked Event. In the same event, the Korean tech giant also discussed its partnership with several other tech giants such as Google, Netflix, and Microsoft as a gaming partner.
Samsung's director of strategy, David Park, explained that the company is working with Xbox on a "premium cloud-based game streaming experience." There wasn't much revealed about the partnership, but Park stated that more on this partnership will be revealed in the future.
Currently, Microsoft is previewing its own cloud game streaming service, Project xCloud. It is also expected that this cloud game streaming service between Microsoft and Samsung will tie in with the upcoming Xbox, later in 2020.
"We believe players around the world should have access to great, high-quality games on the device of their choice," a Microsoft spokesperson said via email Tuesday.
"Working with partners like Samsung is an important step in our Project xCloud journey and will help make game streaming more accessible for gamers. We look forward to sharing more later this year," Microsoft told Cnet.
Microsoft has already started on a completely different path. Recently, the company announced that it has finally planned to end the ongoing console wars and has decided to keep the player at the center of its gaming ecosystem instead of the device. The company has also stated that its Xbox Game Pass service has been a great success.
Finally, the interesting part of the news was the reveal of Microsoft's Forza Street for Galaxy Devices. Forza Street was originally released on the Windows 10 PC last year. Anyone who is interested in trying out the street racing game from Microsoft can pre-register for it on Google Play. An iOS version of the game will also launch along with its Android counterpart.
