Now that Vin Diesel rules the world we’re getting a sequel in his long dormant extreme sports franchise, xXx. And though the first xXx isn’t exactly worthy of Fast Five, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage just got a little more exciting thanks to some inspired casting. While the production has lost Jet Li, Vin Diesel revealed on Facebook that the xXx sequel will include Donnie Yen, known for the Ip Man movies and soon to be famous in the United States for his role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

2016 will be a big year for Yen, with major roles in both the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon sequel, Sword of Destiny, and in the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. So it seems likely that Yen will be much closer to a household name when the 2017 xXx: The Return of Xander Cage release date arrives.
Get ready for a whole lot of this:
Yen will join Diesel, Samuel L. Jackson and Nina Dobrev in the D.J. Caruso (Eagle Eye, Disturbia) directed sequel.
