The 2022 Play! Pokémon Championship Series has added Pokémon GO to its roster of games. This mobile game joins Pokémon TCG and video games Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield as well as Pokkén Tournament DX.
The Play! Pokémon Championship Series is a tournament that brings players from around the world to compete in a series of Regional, International, and Special events for prizes and the title of Pokémon World Champion.
Like many tournaments, the 2020 season was canceled due to the pandemic. The good news is players who already earned points in 2020 can have them transferred to the 2022 season.
Championship Series
For those who can remember, it was during the 2019 Pokémon World Championships when fans were able to watch the inaugural Pokémon GO Invitational. The upcoming season marks the start of the first-ever Pokémon GO Championship Series. Trainers worldwide get to fight against each other and the ones that come out on top get an invitation to the 2022 Pokémon World Championships. The events offer Senior and Master age divisions. More information about this tournament is set to be announced soon.
While waiting, trainers can now start preparing for the tournament. Trainers able to reach Legend rank in the current Pokémon GO Battle League can register before anyone else. Learn more about it here.
