5 Highly Anticipated Video Games Scheduled for Release in Q1 2025

2024 is in the history books, and 2025 may have just started, but it's off to good start as far as video games are concerned.

A couple of highly anticipated video games are set for release in the first three months of the year, including the latest installments of big video game franchises.

Do take note, however, that delays can take place, so make sure you're always updated when it comes to the release schedule of the game you're after.

Without further ado, here are five video games expected to be released in Q1 2025.

'Dynasty Warriors: Origins'

Release Date: January 17

Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows

The first entry in the "Dynasty Warriors" series since 2018, "Dynasty Warriors: Origins" will differ from its predecessors as it will not focus on the entire story of the Chinese novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms."

'Kingdom Come: Deliverance II'

Release Date: February 4

Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows

The sequel to 2018's "Kingdom Come: Deliverance," "Kingdom Come: Deliverance II" will continue the story of its predecessor. Set in 15th century Bohemia, the open world game will follow the story of Henry from Skalitz.

'Assassin's Creed Shadows'

Release Date: February 14

Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows, and Mac

After suffering significant delays and controversy due to a black samurai character, "Assassin's Creed Shadows" is set for release this February. Set in 16th-century Japan, the game will continue the long rivalry between the Assassins and Templars and will focus on two central characters.

'Monster Hunter Wilds'

Release Date: February 28

Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows

The successor to 2018's "Monster Hunter: World," "Monster Hunter Wilds" allows player to customize their Hunter character. As is with the predecessor, players will either have to capture or kill monsters as well as they try to locate an expedition party that's gone missing.

'Split Fiction'

Release Date: March 7

Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows

"It Takes Two" developer Hazelight Studios is back with yet another split-screen co-op game, "Split Fiction." Two players will take on the roles of two authors, who end up being stuck in their own stories and must work together in order to escape.
