The Agents of SHIELD Season 4 promo opens with Radcliffe ordering AIDA to activate ‘Sunset protocol.’ Whatever their secret plan is, it starts with Coulson in handcuffs. Police barge into an office, point a gun in Coulson’s face and Senator Nadeer calls SHIELD a ‘criminal organization.’ The good part of all this? Now Coulson is aware there’s a leak on the team. What he won’t expect is the leak being LMD Agent May. Let’s just hope Coulson’s feelings for May don’t block his otherwise keen eye.
At the end of episode 10, “The Patriot,” Coulson lets Jeffery Mace keep his position as Director of SHIELD, even though he lied about being inhuman. Although going forward the dynamic will be different, since Coulson is calling all the shots and Mace is just handling the politics. Meanwhile, Fitz hasn’t been listening to Jemma’s warnings about destroying AIDA #1’s severed head. Unaware of Radcliffe’s true plan, Fitz is trying to revive AIDA and figure out what went wrong. Hopefully, Fitz figures out Radcliffe’s true agenda before he gets in the middle of things like May.
