The wait is over, and the news is out. AMD has officially revealed its next lineup of Zen CPUs, and the lineup seems to pack a massive punch. AMD kicked off the show by claiming that the Zen 3 architecture has improved upon the previous Zen 2 architecture. Just like the Zen 2 architecture, the Zen 3 CPUs are based on 7nm technology, but AMD has claimed that it is currently working on a 5nm architecture for the Zen 4 lineup.
Now, let's get into the meat of the matter. AMD revealed three gaming-centric Ryzen 5000 series CPUs, including Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 7 5800X, and Ryzen 9 5900X. AMD CEO Lisa Su said that the Zen 3 CPUs are designed to be not only powerful, but also more energy efficient over the Zen 2 CPUs. AMD also showed the performance difference between the current generation's Ryzen 9 3900XT and the upcoming Ryzen 9 5900X. According to the company, the Ryzen 9 5900X offers up to 26% gaming performance improvement over the Ryzen 9 3900XT. AMD also showed a Cinebench 1T comparison test between the Ryzen 9 5900X and an Intel Core i9-10900K, and the Ryzen 9 5900X came out victorious.
Well, AMD did not just end things there. Su also revealed an enthusiast-grade AMD Zen 3 CPU, the Ryzen 9 5950X. She calls the Ryzen 9 5950X the ultimate processor for gaming and content creation.
Finally, Su also gave us a preview of Big Navi GPU. The company shared a short clip of Borderlands 3 running on the Zen 3 CPU and Radeon 6000 series GPU combination. AMD will also be revealing the Radeon 6000 GPUs on October 28.
