After the Nintendo Switch 2 was revealed officially to the world, CD Projekt Red has also confirmed that it is launching their AAA-rated dystopian sci-fi sandbox game, "Cyberpunk 2077," for the console.
However, it initially faced many concerns from gamers who worry that it may face the similar issues that gamers previously saw in its initial arrival to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
However, a new confirmation from a CD Projekt Red developer guarantees that there are "no issues" so far with "Cyberpunk 2077's" Nintendo Switch 2 version, and it is good news for those who are looking to play intensive games on the console.
'Cyberpunk 2077' Switch 2 Performance: No Issues So Far
While there have been multiple AAA-rated games on Nintendo's console over the years, they are known for being limited to first-party titles mostly, and the third parties that release for Nintendo bring non-intensive titles to the devices.
However, that is changing now as CD Projekt Red is one of the many companies that are pushing for their games to be part of the Nintendo Switch 2 experience, and it is set to bring "Cyberpunk 2077" as a launch title.
Initially, CD Projekt Red had to avoid answering the rumors behind "Cyberpunk 2077" being available on the Switch 2 as Nintendo had not yet revealed the device's specs then. However, when the Switch 2 was officially launched in the April Direct event, lo and behold, "Cyberpunk 2077" was a launch title for the console's arrival on June 5.
CD Projekt Red engineer, Tim Green, recently shared via an interview with GameFile that "Cyberpunk 2077" has no issues yet on its performance on the Nintendo Switch 2 in their current tests.
According to Green, the company has not yet experienced the need to "fight with fitting into memory" the massive sci-fi game on its Switch 2 run, and he went as far as to commend how its data storage speeds helped the game's "early streaming problems."
The recent statement confirms that the Switch 2 will have no problems running "Cyberpunk 2077" once the console arrives, but there are many more factors to consider in the future, including low data storage space, memory, and operating situations.
'Cyberpunk 2077' Switch 2 vs. PS4, Xbox One
According to GameRant, it is important to note the reason behind this massive focus on the Switch 2 running "Cyberpunk 2077" smoothly on platforms, particularly as it had unfavorable situations with its previous releases on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The game infamously faced performance issues on the consoles, leading to massive backlash from the community despite the many improvements and upgrades released.
Its earlier performance issues also plagued the name of "Cyberpunk 2077" over the years as players expected it to deliver an excellent experience, only to be met with performance issues.
