Anthem recently released Update 1.3.0 which finally released the new Cataclysm event. In support of that, Anthem released what it dubbed the Community Cortex and introduced some changes to the new event.
One change the Cataclysm event focuses on is Diana's Landing. With the update, players now have a fourth arena to test their wits while also increasing their point output before they can even begin to go against Vara. Diana's Landing is located in the Dominion Foothold district where players face the Riftmaster in a brand new puzzle.
There are also going to be inversions changes so players should take note not to get too comfortable with the buffs from Week 1. For this week, the inversions are going to be a bit different:
- Lightning Rod
- Close-range kills chain lightning to nearby enemies.
- Close Encounters
- Shotguns and Machine Pistols deal increased damage.
The update also makes some changes to the Daily Cataclysm Challenge. For the Daily Cataclysm Arenas Challenge: Gear, the challenges gave players a Melee weapon in Week 1. Now they reward players with a Masterwork Gear piece and a chance for it to be Legendary. The challenges can be repeated daily. They are:
- Power of the Storm (Daily)
- Complete three Cataclysm arenas using the Storm javelin and be rewarded with one Storm Gear piece.
- Heart of the Ranger (Daily)
- Complete three Cataclysm arenas using the Ranger javelin and be rewarded with one Ranger Gear piece.
- Strength of the Colossus (Daily)
- Complete three Cataclysm arenas using the Colossus javelin and be rewarded with one Colossus Gear piece.
- Speed of the Interceptor (Daily)
- Complete three Cataclysm arenas using the Interceptor javelin and be rewarded with one Interceptor Gear piece.
Another update is the Seasonal Store Refresh, which includes:
- War Chest: Melee Weapon - (returning)
- War Chest: Gear
- In addition to melee weapon War Chests, players get to spend their earned Crystal currency on new War Chests containing a (random) javelin Gear piece.
- These War Chests allow players to trade in Crystals for a Masterwork item (with a chance to roll Legendary).
