Apex Legends is slowly inching its way to be the top free-to-play battle royale game and it is already keeping gameplay fresh with the release of the new Havoc Rifle. The new weapon comes as the game itself is barely a month old.

Officially called the Havoc Rifle, the new Apex Legends gun is an energy weapon that comes in two modes, full-auto and hitscan beam. Under full-auto, the Havoc Rifle joins the Hemlok as one of the game’s weapons that can deliver the highest damage-per-shot. It will also be the only hitscan weapon in charge beam mode.
The Havoc Rifle also is the only weapon that can be equipped using two different hop-ups. The first is the Turbocharger, which can eliminate the autofire spin-up time. Second is the Selectfire Receiver, which gives the charge beam an alt-fire mode.
Apex Legends is seen by many as a contender for the top spot in the Battle Royale genre against Fortnite. In just a week after it was released, developer Respawn Entertainment revealed that Apex Legends had at least 25 million downloads with around 2 million concurrent players.
