The last season of Apex Legends was slightly disappointing due to the omission of a new legend. Thankfully, history won’t repeat itself in this case. Season 17, aka Arsenal, will bring a brand-new legend to the game.
This time, Apex players will be getting a 63-year-old man who’s a refined gunslinger and a native of the world Gaea. The new character is called Ballistic, whose real name is August Montgomery Brinkman. It won’t be false to say that Ballistic is kinda similar to Batman. As in, they are both orphans and heirs to their kingdom.
August inherited a shady fortune but lost his parents due to their misdeeds, and became a Thunderdome Games celebrity as "Ballistic" with a wild combat style. He fell in love with Sok Leng, had a son, and formed a powerful trio until a teammate's death caused him to retreat into himself. After nearly two decades, his son Nathaniel entered the Apex Games and August offered to take his place to protect him and serve selflessly while indulging in his favorite activity of killing opponents.
Players won’t have to wait long to get in the shoes of Ballistic as Arsenal is exactly two weeks away. The new season will go live worldwide on May 9. Additional details about Season 17 and Ballistic will be revealed in the coming days. We do know that the World's Edge map will be updated and the Firing Range will be expanded, but what those actually mean are yet to be known.
Apex Legends is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The free-to-play game is supported by microtransactions including paid legend skins, weapon skins, charms, banners, emotes, and more. PLayers can also purchase loot boxes that offer cosmetic rewards. Keep in mind that spending real-life money won’t offer any in-game advantage.
A mobile version of the game is live on Android and iOS. However, it will, unfortunately, be shut down on May 1.
