Apex Legends is introducing a new event that focuses on the mysterious past of Wraith. The themed event is titled Voidwalker, and runs from September 3 to September 17. LIke the previous event, there is going to be a a limited-time mode, new challenges, and even a town takeover.
The event is a not much of a surprise for fans given that Apex Legends hinted that a new event was set for early September and going to focus on a "certain Phase Expert."
Wraith Town Takeover
The construction crews of the Syndicate have managed to uncover part of a decayed Project: Wraith facility in King's Canyon. Players have the chance to jump in and discover the mysterious remains of the research site. This includes a functional prototype portal that players can use to get an early jump on the base or to escape and reinitiate skydive. Players need to be on the lookout as well for other hidden lore details.
Limited-Time Mode: Armed and Dangerous
In the same spirit of Wraith’s escape, the Armed and Dangerous LTM is being introduced in the event. In this LTM, weapons are limited to snipers and shotguns while overall loot is going to be more difficult to come by. Like with the previous modes, playes need to watch out for in-game surveys and give feedback. Apex Legends hopes to roll out more of these modes in the future.
Event Challenges with Free Loot
Players who join the event and complete a variety of challenges can earn exclusive skins and Wraith-themed content. All challenges and rewards are going to be limited to the two-week event.
Direct Purchase Shop
As a tie-in, Apex Legends is adding a set of themed cosmetics such as the Voidwalker Wraith Legendary, which includes a custom character select animation. The game is also introducing price point items with the event. Excluding the legendary skin and frame, all themed cosmetics are going for $5. Since the items are Event Limited, they are eligible to return six months after the Voidwalker event ends on September 17.
